Sometimes the Thing is the very Thing you need to shift the whole damn Thing ;)

Maayan Gordon and I had a profound conversation a few weeks ago where she said, “Sometimes the thing — is the very thing you need — to shift the whole damn thing.” Sounds like a Dr. Seuss riddle 🤣 I know but we were discussing how women have to be creative to fund their businesses and how in the quantum world — probability and possibility can co-exist at the same time.

Let’s look at probability — the stats like:

✨Only 2 percent of women get VC funding — that number drops if you are a diverse founder.

✨Only 1.2 percent of women have a net worth of over one million dollars. Despite 58 percent of us owning businesses and creating job opportunities within our communities.

✨A lot of brands have pulled back from investing in women led events (I have been told this several times “off the record”).

The good news is — as we already established — possibility exists as well — this is a more expansive place to build from. It invites us to get curious so we can redesign and reimagine a better way to grow, fund and scale our businesses moving forward.
